Some altars in the Philippines is like a fusion of traditional Filipino and Chinese. You would be surprised that some Filipinos put the images of Jesus Christ, Mother Mary and Sto. Nino beside the image of Buddha. We don't do this at home but I know some who do.
Many Filipinos believe in the power of the Buddha, especially in bringing good luck in their lives. We have a red Buddha at home to invite good luck.
I would probably ask Buddha for harmony and good health for my family.

We do have images of Papa Jesus, Mama Mary, Sto. Niño and a white Buddha (which is a gift from me)at home and Mama has a special altar for them in her room.
For us, they all have the same power and purpose: to guide, to strengthen and to protect us from harm and any other afflictions.
